Yamuna's water level started increasing in Delhi, Fear of crossing 206 mtr, instructions to be careful for 72 hours

After two days in the capital, the water level of Yamuna increased again on Monday. The water level of the river was 205.45 meters at seven in the morning. By 6 pm, the water level rose to 205.94 metres. It is feared that the water level will go beyond 206 meters. This can increase the problems of Delhiites.

Following the forecast of heavy rains in the hills as well as Haryana, the administration has asked people to be careful for 72 hours. No one is allowed to go to Yamuna Khadar. By Tuesday morning, the Terai areas of the Yamuna may be inundated again. At present, traffic on all roads is operational since Monday evening after water receded from the flooded areas. Traffic is also operational from Salimgarh Bridge, Bhairo Marg Railway Bridge and ITO. There is still waterlogging on a carriageway of ITO towards Vikas Marg, yet vehicles are coming. Here, two out of five gates of ITO Barrage have been opened, the struggle to open the remaining three is going on.

The administration has said that the danger of flood in Delhi has not yet been averted. If there is no heavy rain in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, then Delhi will be safe from heavy floods. Presently limited water is being released from Hathinikund Barrage. On Monday, about 46612 cusecs of water was released every hour, 48010 cusecs of water was released at one o'clock in the night and 40346 cusecs of water was released around 3 o'clock in the evening. The administration has expressed the possibility of water level crossing 206 meters.

Water drainage could not be done on ITO

The condition of ITO is worst due to rising water level of Yamuna. There has not been much improvement in this. People are now ready to go through the water of the drain. This road is not yet safe for heavy vehicles. One of the busiest intersections to reach New Delhi from North Delhi, North-East Delhi, Ring Road, East Delhi, South Delhi, South East Delhi, this place is right in front of PWD Headquarters and is under the protection of PWD. It gets filled with water when it rains lightly. Its condition worsened due to the flood. The sewer system is not working properly here.

Instructions for immediate removal of silt from the roads

Mayor Dr. Shaili Oberoi has directed to remove silt from the roads in the flood affected areas immediately. All its councilors and zone deputy commissioners have been instructed to descend on ground zero to monitor the cleanliness system. Instructed to visit relief camps as well. He held a meeting with Additional Commissioners Sakshi Mittal and Sunil Bhadu on the situation in the flood-affected areas and directed that insecticides should be sprayed every day in the flood relief camps. City SP Zone, Central Zone, Civil Line Zone, Shahdara North and Shahdara South Zone are affected by the flood.
