Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut has raised concerns over the delay in announcing assembly elections for Jharkhand and Maharashtra. He accused the central government of trying to destabilize the opposition, particularly targeting Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren.

Speaking to the media, Raut stated, “You must have seen the news coming in from Jharkhand. They are trying to put Hemant Soren in trouble. They are attempting to poach Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) MLAs. Had elections been announced in Jharkhand, the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) would have been implemented, and such things would not happen.”

Raut further criticized the decision not to announce assembly elections in Maharashtra, suggesting that the delay was a calculated move to give more time to the current government. “Even in Maharashtra, they wanted to give more time to the trio (Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Ministers), which is why elections were not announced for the state. On one hand, they talk about ‘One Nation, One Election,’ and on the other, they cannot conduct elections in four states simultaneously,” Raut remarked.

Political Maneuvering in Jharkhand
