Kari Lake dreamed of ruling Arizona and now she is settled to be US ambassador in Jamaica
Despite losing two elections as a Republican, Kari Lake receives new backing from Trump by appointing her ambassador to Jamaica
Kari Lake, a former television host who on two occasions failed in the attempt to obtain through the ballots, some political office as a Republican flagbearer, could now end up becoming a ambassador of the United States in Jamaica.
After losing the election for governor, in 2022; and two years later in the search of a Senate seat for Arizona, President Donald Trump placed Lake as responsible for the Gl Media Agency obals of United States (USAGM), only it experienced very controversial management, as it tried to fire hundreds of employees and reduce journalistic coverage of both international and national events.
However, Royce Lambert, District Court Judge, determined that her tenure as interim CEO was illegal and ordered the Voice of America (VOA), which is part of USAGM, to rehire its employees and resume its international broadcasts.
Weeks after having made his return to the presidency, a version gained force suggesting that Trump could appoint Kari Lake as ambassador to Mexico, which ended up being discarded.
Towards the end of 2024, The New York Post published an article quoting a person close to the National Committee who, on the condition of maintaining his or her dad in shelter, allegedly maintained that one of the objectives of the next federal administration was to keep Kari Lake away from local politics.
“Republicans want to get rid of Kari Lake, a two-time loser. The best way to do it is for Trump to "for exile from the country in a position that will keep her away from Arizona's politics for at least four years," he stressed.
Almost half a year away, what would seem like a fulfilled prophecy was announced by the president of the nation through a press release from the White House.
Since January, N. Nick Perry left the post of ambassador to Jamaica and his place was filled on an interim basis by Scott Renner as Enc of Businesses, whose work will now could be absorbed by Kari Lake, this in case the Senate confirms his appointment.
Meanwhile, through a publication on the X platform, formerly known as Twitter, he endorsed his gratitude towards Trump.
“I thank President Trump for nominating me to serve as the next United States Ambassador to Jamaica.
Jamaica is a country that I know very well, full of incredible people, and if the Senate confirms my appointment, I hope to strengthen the partnership between our nation nes, to promote the interests of the United States abroad and to consolidate the deep friendship shared by the American and Jamaican peoples,” he wrote.
