A legal battle is underway between California officials and the Riverside County Sheriff after Sheriff Chad Bianco seized hundreds of boxes of ballots from the November statewide Proposition 50 vote. 2025.
According to court records, Bianco seized approximately 1,000 ballot boxes from the Riverside County Voter Registry after executing three search warrants as part of his investigation into alleged irregularities in the vote count during the special election.
When Bianco received his final batch of ballot boxes, California Attorney General Rob Bonta ordered the sheriff to suspend his investigation.
