It recently emerged that Offset, whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus, amended his divorce petition to request spousal support from Cardi B to maintain his lifestyle, according to TMZ.
The document, filed in Bergen County Superior Court, New Jersey, does not specify the exact figure that the rapper is requesting, whose net worth is estimated to be between $80 and $100 million.
How did Cardi B react?
Cardi B said in a Space on her X account (formerly Twitter) that Offset had amended his divorce petition as a pressure measure to let him see their children; However, the rapper clarified that he has never prevented her from seeing her three children: Kulture, 6, Wave, 3, and Blossom, 8 months.
“Are you asking for child support because I’m trying to take them away from you? The kids are always open to you. It’s not my fault you don’t want to fly to New York,” the rapper said.
Cardi B also revealed that the rapper is an absent father and has stood them up on several occasions.
“Kiari can see my kids. There’s not a day that she doesn’t get to see them. She stood my kids up three times. She’s only seen Blossom like five times,” she confessed.
The rapper even assured that she decided not to ask for child support to speed up her divorce process because she is tired.
“I did not ask for child support because I want out of this marriage. I feel tied up,” she stated.
The rapper also revealed that Offset hasn’t contributed to his children’s expenses in a long time and that she is the one who pays them.
“For a whole year, you left me with the kids’ bills. Y’all wanna know how much the kids’ bills are? Start adding them up!” the rapper said.
“My kids have their own driver: he picks them up from school, drops them off, and takes them to gymnastics and boxing classes.The kids' chauffeur makes $10,000 a month. Kulture's school costs $45,000 a year, and Wave's school costs $35,000 a year. You didn't pay any of that this year," she detailed.
When did Cardi B and Offset's relationship begin?
Cardi B and Offset married in 2017, and their relationship has been on and off ever since.
They first split in 2020 when Cardi B filed for divorce citing "irreconcilable differences"; however, they reconciled, and the singer ruled out a separation at the time.
