Prigozhin said in the video that today, May 20, around noon, Bakhmut was completely captured. He said that Wagner fighters would see the captured city before handing it over to the official Russian army. By May 25, we will thoroughly examine Bakhmut and, after ensuring its defense, hand over the city to the Russian army. At the same time, Prigozhin said that we would go to the field camp ourselves.

Following Russia's claim, Ukraine's Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Maliar said fighting was continuing. "The situation is serious, as of now our security forces are in control of some industrial and infrastructure facilities in the area," he said.
