A child was seriously injured in Nebraska after his father
A boy identified as Bridger Hughes, five years old, suffered serious internal injuries after his father accidentally ran over him while removing a vehicle from the family's home's garage in North Platte, Nebraska.
Local police reported that the accident occurred around 4:00 on Wednesday afternoon, when the child's father was backing up with the au he drove without realizing that the child was hidden inside a cardboard box located behind the vehicle, according to local media KNOP.
Emergency transfer and delicate condition
The child was initially transferred to a local medical center and later taken by helicopter to Children's Hospital due to the severity of his injuries.
Relatives indicated that Bridger has severe internal injuries in the upper body and remains under specialized care while doctors work to stabilize him.
The child's parents, Caitlyn Walter and Udell Hughes, stay with him in Omaha during treatment.
Through a fundraising campaign organized by relatives, it was informed that the recovery of the child will be long and complex, while medical expenses and stay away from home continue to increase.
The family said that they face costs related to accommodation, food, transportation and other expenses derived from the medical emergency.
