William Scull no cree que Crawford pueda derrotar a Canelo
William Scull explico que si Crawford hubiese hecho una pelea de preparacion en 168 libras quizas el pronostico para el duelo con Canelo Alvarez seria 50-50
William Scull said he doesn't think Terence Crawford can beat Saul "Canelo" Alvarez on September 13 in Las Vegas because of a weight disadvantage.
In an interview with FightHub TV, Scull explained that if Crawford had had a tune-up fight at 168 pounds, the odds against Canelo Alvarez might have been 50-50, but that's not the case.
“Canelo is dropping a couple of pounds, and Crawford is moving up in weight to fight him. Maybe if Crawford had fought at 168, he would have gained a little more experience at that weight. But making that weight could be a problem. Canelo would knock him out before the 12th round. I would be surprised if Crawford won this fight. There's a disadvantage in terms of weight classes. If there wasn't, it would be a 50-50 fight,” he said.
“This fight in this weight class definitely benefits Canelo. I'm saying there's a 75% chance Canelo wins the fight. Crawford, although he looks stronger, is gaining a lot of weight. He has great striking ability, which benefits him against Canelo. The important thing here is not to be in the center of the ring because Canelo will definitely have the advantage. He'll be stronger,” he added.
According to expert predictions, Terence Crawford will be at a weight disadvantage and unable to defeat the Mexican, but others believe that size will not be an issue, as the American has the necessary skills to defeat the 168-pound champion on his own turf.
After his fight with Cuban William Scull, where the Mexican fighter was criticized for his lackluster performance, many sports experts have changed their minds and see Bud as having a real chance of winning, believing the Guadalajara native is in decline.
If the American wins, he would become a three-time undisputed champion in different weight classes and make history in the sport, while Canelo Alvarez could end Crawford's undefeated record and send him into retirement.
Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez, 34, became undisputed super middleweight champion for the second time after defeating William Scull and now has a record of 63 wins (39 by knockout), two losses and two draws in his professional career.
For his part, Terence Crawford, 38, became a four-division champion by defeating Israel Madrimov and remains one of the best pound-for-pound fighters. The undisputed American double champion now has 41 wins, 31 of them by knockout.
