The phenomenon has even more merit if it is taken into account that Xiaomi barely has two models in its catalog. Even so, the Chinese firm already competes from you to yourself against manufacturer s historical and brands specialized in electric mobility. A good part of the protagonism is taken by the new SU7, the sedan that has become the great commercial motor of the company.
The SU7 becomes Xiaomi's star
The Xiaomi SU7 registered 26,826 registrations during April and consolidated itself as the company's most vehicle. The growth compared to March was enormous and the model already represents more than 73% of all the brand's sales.
The updated sedan began marketing on March 19 and just a few days later the first deliveries started. Since then, the interest has not has stopped growing. Xiaomi has known how to combine a very sporty design with a strong technological load and a commercial strategy especially aggressive in prices.
That cocktail is working better than expected and has placed the SU7 among the most discussed electric on the Chinese market. In addition, the image of ma rca of Xiaomi in the technological sector is helping to attract a young audience that looks for connectivity and features without paying exorbitant figures.
The YU7 loses volume, but not prominence
While the SU7 gains ground, the YU7 SUV reduced its deliveries in April. The model reached 9,876 units, a lower number than that of March, although within the company they do not consider it a worrying problem.
The explanation is quite simple. Xiaomi still has limited production capacity and is prioritizing the model with higher level of pe given at every moment. In the last weeks, the focus was on the SU7 due to the huge volume of demand that it received after its renewal.
That means that the YU7 could regain prominence later, especially when production rebalances between both models.
Xiaomi prepares new models and targets Europe
The Chinese brand doesn't plan to slow down the pace in 2026. In the coming weeks it will present the new YU7 GT, the sportier version of the electric SUV . It is expected that the model will have a price close to $62,000 dollars at the current exchange, a figure that will position it in a more exclusive segment.
Xiaomi's plans are very ambitious. The company expects to deliver around 550,000 vehicles during 2026, a s high important compared to the 411,837 units achieved the previous year. Between January and April it already accumulates 117,558 sales.
Another of the key movements will come with the future YU9, a large plug-in hybrid SUV that will mark an important change within the company. It will be the p first non-fully-electric model of its range and will play an important role in expanding its presence in China before the European landing planned for 2027.
