Life sentence for man who murdered his wife in front of his children in Georgia
A man in Georgia was sentenced to life in prison without parole after murdering his wife and shooting his stepson
A court in Georgia found Kelvin Demond Williams, 48, guilty of murdering his wife, Tenisha Williams.
Judge Shannon Wallace sentenced him to life in prison without parole, plus an additional 100 years for other charges, including aggravated assault, according to the Georgia County District Attorney's Office Cherokee.
Armed attack inside the home
The crime occurred on the night of July 13, 2025, at a home in Woodstock, north of Marietta.
According to the prosecution, Williams opened fire inside the house, first shooting his 16-year-old stepson, who managed to escape and call 911 while hiding. A four-year-old boy was also in the home.
Evidence presented at trial included recordings from internal cameras that captured the moment of the attack.
In the video, the defendant chases his wife into the kitchen, where he shoots her multiple times. The final shot proved fatal.
After the attack, the man stood beside the victim's body smoking a cigarette while waiting for the police.
Prior Control and Abuse
Prosecutor Rachel Ashe stated that there was a pattern of prolonged control and abuse.
According to the investigation, the defendant isolated the victim, controlled her movements, and even forced her to wear a monitoring device.
Relatives indicated that the woman was prohibited from contacting her adult children or attending her own mother's funeral.
The jury deliberated for less than an hour before finding Williams guilty, based on what the prosecution described as “overwhelming” evidence.
District Attorney Susan K. Treadaway called the crime “evil and unjustifiable.”
Although the children present were not physically harmed, authorities emphasized the emotional impact this event will have on their lives.
