Two men attacked with a machete at a New York subway station
Two men were injured after being attacked with a machete at a Bronx station. The attacker fled the scene and police are actively searching for him
Two men were stabbed with a machete inside the West Farms Square–East Tremont Avenue station in the Bronx on Sunday afternoon, according to the New York Police Department (NYPD).
The attack occurred around 4:40 p.m., when an individual An assailant, still unidentified, approached the victims and attacked them without warning. Upon arriving at the scene after a 911 call, officers found both men injured: a 44-year-old man had a cut on his wrist, while the other, 32, had a wound to his face. According to the police report, the latter also had his cell phone stolen during the attack. Victims hospitalized, assailant at large. Both injured men were taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where they are in stable condition. Authorities have not offered details about a possible motive for the attack or whether there was any connection between the attacker and the victims. The assailant managed to escape from the scene before the arrival of the police, and no arrests have been made so far. The NYPD is continuing its investigation and has appealed to anyone who may have relevant information about the case.
