Nearly three decades after being part of the second trilogy of "Star Wars", actress Natalie Portman reminisced about her time in this important franchise and said she was "guilty" of having taken an unusual object from the set to keep as a souvenir in the years to come.
The story of the funny anecdote took place during the famous actress's visit to "The Drew Barrymore Show" and, to the surprise of many, another of its protagonists was her co-star Hayden Christensen, who brought to life the legendary 'Anakin Skywalker'.
According to Natalie Portman, the object she chose as a memento of her participation in the saga was a lock of hair from Hayden Christensen himself. Or at least from the extensions he used to achieve his character's signature braid.
However, the joy was short-lived, as he revealed that after a few months, the lock of hair went missing: “It’s pretty iconic. The only problem is, I lost it. I don’t know where it is now. I stole it and lost it,” he humorously shared with Drew Barrymore.
But Natalie Portman isn't the only cast member who has confessed to seeking to immortalize her time on the franchise through some of the project's props. Hayden Christensen himself also succumbed to his instinct to take a "souvenir" from the film set. Surrounded by hundreds of fans who gathered at a Star Wars convention, the star of the second trilogy indicated that he returned the favor to Portman by taking "a couple of Padme's little braids from Episode II," as well as other items. But the cherry on top was a lightsaber that he had to transport back to his home in Canada in a very creative way: as if it were a didgeridoo, an ancient wind instrument. "I told them I bought a didgeridoo because I wanted it shipped back to Canada for me," he explained at his meeting with fans of his character.
