In the Rajya Sabha elections 2022, the ruling Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government in Maharashtra has suffered a setback. It was hoping to win four out of six seats, but it won only 3-3 seats at par with the BJPThis enraged Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut. He has accused the Election Commission of being biased. NCP chief Sharad Pawar called the results a miracle. He indirectly credited this to former CM and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis.

Voting for six Rajya Sabha seats in Maharashtra was held amid hustle and bustle. The drama over the counting of votes continued till late in the night and in the results declared early on Saturday, the ruling MVA alliance and the main opposition BJP got an equal number of seats. The three parties involved in the alliance i.e. Congress, Shiv Sena and NCP won one seat each. For the fourth seat, he had fielded NCP's Sanjay Pawar, but he lost. This has dealt a blow to the coalition government. 

These six candidates won
from Maharashtra Sanjay Raut of Shiv Sena has once again been elected to the Upper House from Maharashtra for the Rajya Sabha. Praful Patel from NCP and Imran Pratapgarhi from Congress won. At the same time, apart from Union Minister Piyush Goyal, Anil Bonde and Dhananjay Mahadik have won the elections from BJPFormer CM and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis claimed victory in three seats after the late night drama. 

In this way, BJP won three seats
. Each candidate for Rajya Sabha in Maharashtra needed 41 votes to win, but BJP candidates Piyush Goyal and Anil Bonde got 48-48 votes, while the third candidate Dhananjay Mahadik got minimum 41 votes. Similarly, Congress candidate Imran Pratapgarhi got 44 votes, NCP leader and former central Praful Patel got 43 votes and Shiv Sena leader Raut got minimum 41 votes. With one vote rejected, a total of 284 votes were considered valid.
According to Pawar, the miracle happened in this way

Malik and Deshmukh could not cast their vote
The total seats in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly are 288, but due to the death of Shiv Sena MLA Ramesh Latke and two NCP MLAs Nawab Malik and Anil Deshmukh in jail, the effective strength was reduced to 285. The coalition parties had to bear the loss, otherwise it could have won even the fourth seat.
