WHO claims
It is known that in the report released by the WHO on Wednesday on the death of 66 children in the West African country of Gambia after drinking a decongestant syrup made by an Indian pharmaceutical company, the cough medicine diethylene glycol and ethylene Glycols are like poison to humans. The World Health Organization has also issued a warning not to use these syrups. So far 4 cough medicines have been identified as the cause of death.
WHO banned these drugs
It is said that the past record of Maiden Pharmaceuticals is quite doubtful and controversial. The drugs that have been banned by the WHO after the death of children in The Gambia include Promethazine Oral Solution, Cofaxmalin Baby Cough Syrup, Macaf Baby Cough Syrup and Magrip N Cold Syrup. These medicines are manufactured by Maiden Pharmaceuticals based in Sonipat. The concentration of diethylene glycol and ethylene glycol in these drugs was more than approved.
