Police Investigating Adulterated Samosas in Pune: Condoms, Gutkha, and Stones Allegedly Found
Uncover the shocking case of alleged samosa adulteration in Pune, where condoms, gutkha, and stones were reportedly found in snacks supplied to a major automobile company’s canteen.
In a startling turn of events, a case of alleged adulteration involving samosas containing condoms, gutkha, and stones has emerged in a major automobile company's canteen in Pimpri Chinchwad, Pune. The incident has escalated to police involvement, with five individuals facing charges in connection to the matter.
According to police officials, among those implicated in the case are two employees of the contracted company responsible for samosa supply to the automobile firm. Additionally, three individuals from another company, previously terminated from the contract due to adulteration accusations, are also under scrutiny for their alleged involvement in the scheme, purportedly driven by business rivalry.
Detailing the events leading to the discovery, an officer stated, “Catalyst Service Solutions Private Limited is tasked with providing food items for the automobile company's canteen. However, the company had subcontracted the samosa supply to Manohar Enterprises.” The revelation came to light when employees at the automobile firm discovered the illicit additives in the samosas.
Upon investigation, it was revealed that two individuals, Firoz Shaikh and Vicky Shaikh, allegedly adulterated the samosas with condoms, gutkha, and stones. The accused claimed they were directed by partners of SRA Enterprises, the company previously ousted from the contract due to prior adulteration incidents.
A police spokesperson disclosed, “A case has been registered under IPC sections 328 (causing hurt by means of poison) and 120B (criminal conspiracy). The accused confessed to their involvement, stating they were acting under the instructions of SRA Enterprises' partners.”
Previously, SRA Enterprises faced termination from the contract after incidents involving contaminated breakfast items. The motive behind the adulteration plot appears to be a bid to tarnish the market reputation of Manohar Enterprises. Currently, one arrest has been made, and investigations are ongoing.
