The issue of locality in Jharkhand has become a hot topic once. This time AJSU (All Jharkhand Student Union) has demanded the state government to implement the local policy soon. On this issue, AJSU supremo Sudesh Mahto said that the state government should not spread confusion. The state government should implement Khatian-based local policy soon.

Talking to reporters at the party's central office, AJSU supremo cum former deputy chief minister of the state Sudesh Mahto has said that if Chief Minister Hemant Soren is serious about implementing local policy according to public sentiment, then implement it as told in the House. He should avoid keeping the state in confusion because once he has said in the assembly that local policy cannot be implemented on the basis of Khatian of 1932. Whereas in the special session of the Legislative Assembly on September 5, 2022, he said that he will implement the local policy and will also give reservation to OBCs.

The AJSU chief said that even in the elections, the JMM had promised that it would implement the local policy afresh, but the government has three years to go. His stand and attitude on this issue is not clear. He questioned whether JMM's promise was just an election promise.

Shri Mahto said that if the Chief Minister says anything in the House, then its seriousness should also be shown. Along with the local policy, the government should also implement the planning policy, but people do not have faith in the JMM, which is leading the power regarding local policy and planning policy. Then questions also arise on the past of JMM. Had JMM wanted, Jharkhand would have become a separate state in 1993, but it chose the politics of deal.

He said that the Khatian of 1932 should remain at the center in implementing the local policy, while the final survey will have to form its basis. AJSU Party has been raising voice on this issue continuously and we are ready to keep the pressure on the government in the current circumstances. On September 23, the party is going to start the program on the occasion of Binod Bihari's birth anniversary. Under this, workers from every assembly constituency will reach the capital Ranchi. Will go to Raj Bhavan while marching on foot in Ranchi. Along with this, a reminder letter will be handed over to the Governor, so that the government at least remembers that Khatian based local policy is related to the need and spirit of this state. Hence AJSU party will fight a decisive battle.

The AJSU chief said that we have been continuously vocal for conducting caste census at the state level, but the government has not taken any initiative. Reservation of backward classes in the state should be decided on the basis of caste census. The caste census will also reveal the social and economic status of a large population of the state. Due to lack of caste census, this community was deprived of contesting thousands of posts of OBCs in Panchayat elections. Next is the civic elections. Instead of doing politics on OBC reservation and issuing statements according to the occasion, the government should announce caste census.

He said that to ensure the place for tribals in the census column, the demand for implementation of Sarna code has also been made by AJSU for a long time. From the house to the road, the party's late MLA Kamal Kishore Bhagat kept raising it. The party has decided that a delegation will meet the country's President Draupadi Murmu on this issue and draw her attention.

Sudesh Mahto questioned the sports policy implemented today and said that the intention should be clear before implementing the policy. He said that the main focus of the government should be to develop infrastructure. There is a lot of potential for sports in the state. The government has to look at sports not as an additional subject, but as a core subject.
