Gate number 10 of Bhimgoda Barrage broke down in Haridwar on Sunday evening following heavy rains in the hilly areas of Uttarakhand. It is being told that at present the Ganga is running close to the warning line. At the same time, due to the breaking of the gate, there is a danger of water filling in the coastal areas of the city. Police has started Munadi in the city after the incident. People living in the coastal areas are being asked to shift from there.

There is a possibility of heavy rains in four districts of Uttarakhand on Sunday. The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for heavy rains for Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri and Haridwar districts. Whereas, Orange alert of rain has been issued for other districts.
