Jharkhand Police’s Successful Operation Against Drug Dealers
Jharkhand Police continues its crackdown on drug dealers, arresting six smugglers with brown sugar worth over six crore rupees in a joint operation with the Anti Narcotics Task Force of Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh.
Hazaribagh, Jharkhand - Jharkhand Police’s action against drug dealers is continuing unabated. In a significant operation on Monday, Hazaribagh Police arrested six smugglers with brown sugar worth more than six crore rupees. The arrests were made near Laxmi Line Hotel near Nagwan on the NH-33 Hazaribagh-Barhi road. This successful operation was the result of a joint effort by the Anti Narcotics Task Force of Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh, and Hazaribagh Police.
Details of the Arrested Smugglers
According to Hazaribagh Sadar SDPO Kumar Shivashish, the arrested smugglers include:
- Mo Khalid (father Mo Yunus), resident of Barwadih of Pathalgadda police station area of Chatra district
- Mo Nurullah (father Mo Jasimuddin) of Azad Mohalla of Chatra Sadar police station area
- Balram Kumar (father Siddharth Shankar Dangi) of Tapsagedwa village of Simaria police station area
- Suresh Dangi (father Indradev Dangi) of Lohagadda
- Vijay Kumar Dangi (father Visheshwar Dangi) of Barwadih
- Mo Salauddin (father Mo Rauf)
Seizure and Details of the Operation
Hazaribagh police recovered 4080 grams of brown sugar, a Swift Dzire car (JH 01 AA-9194), a Honda Splendor motorcycle (JH 24 E 5918), a Honda Shine motorcycle (JH 13 D 0868), and six mobile phones. The action was taken based on information regarding the buying and selling of a large quantity of brown sugar.
SP Arvind Kumar Singh, along with the Anti Narcotics Task Force of Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh, received intelligence that six smugglers from Chatra district were heading to Hazaribagh with a significant quantity of brown sugar. Subsequently, the SP formed a raiding team under the leadership of the SDPO.
High Market Value of Brown Sugar
SDPO Kumar Shivashish highlighted that the price of brown sugar per kilogram in Mumbai is Rs 1 crore, while in foreign countries, the price can go up to Rs 1.5 crore per kilogram. This high value underscores the significance of the successful operation and the substantial impact on the drug trade.
Production and Distribution of Brown Sugar
The SDPO revealed that smugglers produce brown sugar by mixing chemicals with opium in the Chatra forest. From there, the drugs are distributed to various states, including Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Mumbai, and Goa. Additionally, smugglers bring opium from Khunti district to manufacture brown sugar in the Chatra forest.
