Pam Bondi puts Mexico on the list of enemies of the US along with Iran and China
Pam Bondi included Mexico on the list of countries considered adversaries of the US, along with Iran, Russia and China
In a meeting with senators, Pam Bondi, Attorney General of the United States, generated controversy by placing Mexico among the countries considered enemies, along with Iran, China and Russia.
Trump has said it loud and clear: We will not be intimidated and we will keep the United States safe. Not only Iran, but also from Russia, China, and Mexico, from any adversary who tries to kill us or drug our children, she insisted.
“From any foreign adversary, whether they try to kill us physically or by drugging our children,” Bondi said.
Furthermore, she assured in her appearance before the Senate Expenditure Committee that the United States will adopt a firm stance against any nation that represents a threat to its sovereignty.
The comments from the US official come after the Treasury Department accused three Mexican banking institutions of participating in money laundering for groups involved in fentanyl trafficking between Mexico and the United States.
Pam Bondi praised President Donald Trump's leadership in the face of international crises, such as the conflict in the Middle East, and outlined his role in protecting citizens from external threats, including the drug overdose epidemic.
In the same appointment, the prosecutor avoided answering directly when asked if the Mexican government was cooperating to address the drug trafficking crisis, noting only that Mexico and Canada are being evaluated for their role in combating fentanyl trafficking into the United States.
We are fighting to protect ourselves from the precursors (of fentanyl) that come in... they continue to send them through Mexico and Canada, on ships through our ports of entry into our country. This is something that we all have to work together to stop them, he insisted.
As the first actions that Donald Trump took after his return to the White House, he imposed tariffs on both Mexico and Canada, as a pressure measure for both countries to stop the trafficking of fentanyl and migrants.
In addition, Trump declared Mexican cartels, including the Sinaloa Cartel, the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, and the Gulf Cartel, to be terrorist organizations.
