A tragic incident shocked the northwest community of Harris County, Texas, on Friday after a family dog ??attacked a 9-month-old baby.

Precinct 4 reported that the emergency occurred in the 6600 block of Etchstone Drive, where officers responded after receiving a report of an aggressive animal inside a residence.

Rescue and Transfer of the Victim

When officials arrived on the scene, emergency services (EMS) paramedics were already providing immediate care to the child. The baby was later rushed to a local hospital, where he was admitted for specialized medical treatment.

So far, authorities have not revealed details about the child's health or the nature of the injuries sustained during the attack, Telemundo reported.

The future of the animal involved has also not been determined. Spokespeople for Precinct 4 indicated that the case is under investigation and that the corresponding protocols will be evaluated to determine the measures to be taken regarding the dog.
