Mayor Karen Bass has appointed Jaime Moore as the new chief of the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD).
Moore, who was serving as commander of the LAFD's Valley Operations Office, was appointed this Friday by Bass to assume responsibility at the head of the Los Angeles firefighters.
The new LAFD chief was born in Delhi, Louisiana, but has spent most of his life in Southern California.
