The recalled food comes from the Mountain West Food Group, based in Heyburn, Idaho
In a statement, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) informed consumers about the recall of approximately 2,855 pounds of ground beef due to possible E. coli contamination.
The recalled food comes from the Mountain West Food Group, based in Heyburn, Idaho, which distributed the food to about six states, including California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Pennsylvania, and Washington. According to the USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), this food was sold in a 16-ounce vacuum-sealed package labeled "Forward Farms," ??with a use-by or freezing date of January 13, 2026, and "EST 2083" printed on the side of the package. Although no cases of illness have been reported so far, the FSIS alerted the public, indicating that consuming this food may cause diarrhea, vomiting, and other symptoms. Therefore, it recommends that consumers discard the food or return it to the retailer where it was purchased for a refund.
