Thousands of unionized nurses and health professionals at Kaiser Permanente are returning to work this Tuesday after ending a four-week strike at facilities in California and Hawaii, union leaders confirmed Monday.
Officials from the United Nurses Association of California/Union of Health Professionals (UNAC/UHCP) reported in a statement that significant progress had been made in contract negotiations, ending the work stoppage as of 7:00 am this Tuesday. The union also canceled all planned demonstrations for Monday while they finalized the new agreement with Kaiser Permanente representatives before resuming work.
