Xiaomi YU7 Max: extreme power and exclusive design
Equipped with a 690 hp engine, Brembo brakes and a design inspired by luxury models, the version seeks to position itself as a new benchmark in the Chinese market
Xiaomi, known worldwide for its success in the technology industry, has been expanding its presence in the competitive electric vehicle sector for some time now.
After the debut of the SU7 sedan and the YU7 SUV in their standard configuration, the brand China is preparing the launch of its most ambitious and powerful version: the Xiaomi YU7 Max.
However, before the company officially revealed it, a leak revealed a good part of its technical specifications and aesthetic details.
Despite the secrecy with which Xiaomi handled this launch, the leak made it clear that this Max version will not be a simple variant, but a high-performance proposal, designed to compete with the giants of the premium electric segment.
With a more aggressive design, a dual-motor configuration and a very marked performance focus, this new model goes beyond what Xiaomi had offered until now.
Sporty style and nods to iconic models
The leaked images and data suggest that the YU7 Max adopts a more muscular and bold aesthetic than the standard YU7.
With a visual language inspired by sporty SUVs of brands luxury some have even compared its silhouette to that of the Ferrari Purosangue, this model is distinguished by its carbon fiber exterior accessories.
Elements such as the rear spoiler, mirror housings, headlight frames and part of the hood are made from this material, highlighting its dynamic character.
The set is completed with 21-inch wheels and a body that, without renouncing the SUV format, opts for an elegant, arched roofline.
The generous ground clearance reinforces its crossover profile, while the overall length of 4.8 meters places it in the medium-large segment, ideal for both the city and long journeys.
Technologically focused interior with premium finishes
The YU7 Max's cabin is no slouch. According to available data, the cabin raises the brand's standards in terms of technology and finishes.
A 16.1-inch multimedia screen dominates the center of the dashboard, while the rest of the interior receives more carbon fiber, especially on the steering wheel and the front panel.
At the software level, the model will feature the Hyper OS operating system, a platform developed by Xiaomi that promises total integration between the vehicle and the user's digital ecosystem.
As if that were not enough, it incorporates the Xiaomi Pilot Pro driving assistance system, which operates under L2+ standards, approaching semi-autonomous driving.
High-voltage electric platform and great autonomy
Technically, the YU7 Max is based on the same 800-volt Modena architecture that underpins the SU7 sedan, which allows it to access ultra-fast charging.
The battery it mounts is a 101.7 kWh, which in the CLTC homologation cycle translates to an approximate range of 760 km. These figures place the model among the best on the market in terms of energy efficiency and range.
One of the most striking points is its acceleration capacity. Thanks to its two electric motors one per axle the YU7 Max delivers a combined power of 690 horsepower and 866 Nm of torque.
This allows it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.23 seconds, reaching a top speed of 253 km/h. These are figures that, until recently, were only seen in internal combustion sports cars.
A powertrain worthy of a sports car
What Xiaomi proposes with this version goes beyond the usual performance of an electric SUV. The braking system includes four-piston Brembo calipers, a component that we normally find in high-performance cars.
It also incorporates a dual-chamber air suspension, which promises to adapt to different terrains and improve both stability and ride comfort.
These elements reinforce Xiaomi's intention to position the YU7 Max as a reference not only in the Chinese market, but also on the global scene, where the combination of luxury, sportiness, and autonomy continues to be a winning formula.
Competitive segment, but Xiaomi aims high
The high-performance electric SUV segment has become one of the most competitive on the market. Models such as the Tesla Model Y Performance, the Nio ES7, or the Lotus Eletre have already set the bar high, both in terms of performance and price.
However, Xiaomi has a strong card: its ability to integrate its own technology and sell at more reasonable prices than its rivals.
Although the brand has not yet officially announced the value of this Max version, it is speculated that it could be in a competitive range, close to $55,000 in its base configuration, and could reach $65,000 or more, depending on the level of equipment and customization.
If these figures are confirmed, the YU7 Max could become one of the best price/performance ratios in the high-end electric market.
