India Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO) Complex was inaugurated by PM Narendra Modi on Wednesday at Pragati Maidan in Delhi. The PM dedicated the largest convention center to the nation. This center was named Bharat Mandapam. This complex has been prepared at a cost of Rs 2700 crore. PM Modi reached Pragati Maidan before the inauguration and showed the name of the Convention Center by flying a drone here. India is all set to host the G-20 leaders' meeting in September.

From politicians to film personalities also reached the inauguration program of International Exhibition-cum-Convention Center (IECC) Bharat Mandapam. Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, Piyush Goyal, actor Aamir Khan have participated in the programme. Prime Minister Narendra Modi released commemorative stamps and coins during the inauguration of IECC Complex at Pragati Maidan, Delhi.

PM Modi said in his address that today is a very historic day. Today I am seeing dreams coming true. First of all PM has a wonderful scene in front of me. It is grand, it is vast. Today, seeing dreams coming true in front of my eyes, I feel like humming the lines of a famous poem. Every Indian is happy and proud to see Bharat Mandapam. Bharat Mandapam is an invocation of India's potential, India's new energy. Bharat Mandapam is a vision of the grandeur and will of India.

PM Narendra Modi further said that today is a historic day, as it is Kargil Vijay Diwas. Our brave sons and daughters defeated the enemies of the country. I pay tribute to every hero who sacrificed their lives in the Kargil War. On the inauguration of the complex, PM Narendra Modi said that every Indian is happy, full of pride after seeing the Bharat Mandapam.

PM Modi also said that today the world is accepting India that it is the mother of democracy. Amrit Mahotsav is being celebrated on the occasion of 75 years. It is a beautiful gift given by us Indians to our democracy. Events related to G20 are going to be held here. The heads of the major countries of the world are present here. Today the whole world is watching and will watch the growing steps of India and the growing stature of India.

Delhi Police deployed hundreds of its police personnel in and around Pragati Maidan ahead of the inauguration. A senior police officer had told that 2000 personnel were deployed at the venue along with the security unit, squad team and traffic personnel as well as in the New Delhi zone. Pragati Maidan comes under New Delhi district, which is one of the 15 districts under Delhi Police.

For information, let us tell you that under the Pragati Maidan redevelopment project, IECC (Integrated Exhibition and Convention Center) has been prepared as a modern complex. The total cost of the project is Rs 2,254 crore. With an area of about 123 acres, the complex is one of the top 10 exhibition and convention complexes in the world, the ministry said. Level 3 of the convention center has a seating capacity of 7,000 people, making it larger than Australia's historic Sydney Opera House, which seats approximately 5,500 people.
