Jorge Ramos relives his last day at Univision
The Mexican journalist said that saying
In December 2024, journalist Jorge Ramos said goodbye to the Univision network after 30 years in its ranks. And a few months after this decision, the communicator has been more sincere than ever about what he experienced on his last day at the television station. What did he say? Here we tell you the details.
It was during his appearance on the podcast of his beloved colleague, Maria Elena Salinas, that the presenter spoke about his new routine now that he has left the television forums behind and has made his way into digital platforms.
Regarding his decision to reinvent himself, Jorge Ramos indicated that: “Both they in television and I understood that a cycle had ended and that something different had to begin. Both they and I, and that is exactly what we did and I think we understood that it was the perfect moment.”
However, this certainty did not make the moment of saying “goodbye” to the television station that saw him develop as a professional and become one of the greatest references in Spanish-language journalism any less painful.
“It was sad, difficult and with a lot of gratitude. I think that television allowed you and me to do things that we would never have imagined, we met great people from all over the world, we were in all the places in the wars where we had to "to be," he fondly recalled.
When asked about his last day at Univision, Ramos confessed that he considers it one of the most bittersweet days of his life. In addition to the impact it had on his professional life, his personal life also took a 360-degree turn.
"Sad because I was leaving a group of friends with whom I grew up for a very long time. There was a routine that I now realize was very hard to break, but at the same time, the final balance is one of absolute gratitude. Television changed my life, and it changed it for the better, and I learned so many things, and I continue to learn so many things. That's why I say it was sad to leave, but I'm leaving with extraordinary gratitude," he concluded.
