The Russian president said that an early end to the conflict in Ukraine would essentially involve a diplomatic solution.

At the same time, White House spokesman John Kirby said that Putin has indicated that he is ready for talks. The end of the war that began with Russia's invasion of Ukraine on February 24 seems to be far from over.
