Giselle Navarro, LAPD cadet, seeks kidney donor to fulfill her dream
Giselle joined the LAPD cadet program at age 15 and reached the rank of lieutenant; in October, the Hispanic woman was diagnosed with kidney failure
An 18-year-old Hispanic woman dreams of one day becoming a police officer, but to make that dream a reality, cadet Giselle Navarro must find a kidney donor.
Navarro, a senior at Venice High School, is facing difficulties continuing her studies after being diagnosed with kidney failure in October.
“It has been very difficult for me because I am the healthiest of my siblings. It is very difficult, but I try my best every time. I thank God for being alive and not in a hospital bed,” Cadet Navarro, who celebrated her 18th birthday this Monday, told Telemundo.
