TheDream.US, an organization that supports immigrant students lacking legal status interested in pursuing a university degree, has opened a new round of scholarship applications.
More than 10 years after its inception, this organization has awarded more than 12,000 university scholarships. to young people Immigrants who were brought to the United States as children and live without legal immigration status, with limited opportunities to access education aimed at improving their situation in a country where they were not born. Therefore, their goal is to support the higher and professional education of the so-called "Dreamers," that is, those classified under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) and Temporary Protected Status (TPS) programs. In collaboration with nearly 80 universities in 20 states, TheDream.US offers access to two types of scholarships. The first is called the Opportunity Scholarship and is aimed at students without legal status who live in areas where they are required to pay out-of-state tuition or are prohibited from enrolling in state-funded universities and colleges. This scholarship provides $100,000 for a bachelor's degree, and the application deadline is the 31st. January 2026.
On the other hand, the TheDream.US National Scholarship is also offered, which is for students without legal status who are eligible for in-state tuition or who attend a private partner institution.
The benefit amount in this case is $16,500 for an associate degree or up to $33,000 for a bachelor's degree, and the deadline to apply is February 28, 2026.
In this regard, Gaby Pacheco, president and CEO of TheDream.US, urged “Dreamers” to apply for a scholarship that could change their destiny once they complete their university studies.
