A video circulating on the social network TikTok shows 18-year-old Anna Kepner dancing with other passengers aboard the Carnival Horizon cruise ship, in what became one of her last public appearances before being found dead during the voyage.
The images were published by the user @nickcapo609 and correspond to The ship's send-off party on November 2, when the vessel departed from Miami for a week-long Caribbean itinerary. In the video, Kepner appears dressed in black shorts and a white T-shirt, dancing near the center of the crowd. Her grandmother, identifiable by her pink outfit, is standing a few steps away.
Body Found in Cabin
The teenager was found dead on November 7 inside her cabin, which she shared with two of her siblings, including a 16-year-old stepbrother. According to official information, her body was found under a bed. Authorities reported that the cause of death was mechanical asphyxiation, without offering further details about the circumstances surrounding her death. Federal investigation underway. Following the discovery, the FBI launched an investigation, and when the cruise ship returned to PortMiami on November 9, federal agents boarded the vessel to collect evidence. To date, no suspect has been publicly identified, nor have any criminal charges been filed. However, documents that surfaced in a family court dispute between the young woman's father and stepmother, Christopher Kepner and Shauntel Kepner, and the latter's ex-husband, Thomas Hudson, indicate that the 16-year-old stepbrother is being investigated in connection with the death. Authorities have not officially confirmed that information.
