Ranchi: The Kolkata Police, which is probing the advocate Rajiv Kumar case, has sent a notice to the Deputy Director of ED posted in Jharkhand. He is currently posted as Deputy Director in Odisha. Kolkata Police has fixed August 9 as the date to get information from them in the matter. The police team will go to Odisha on August 9.

ED, CBI and Income Tax Department have been made defendants in the petition in which High Court advocate Rajiv Kumar has been arrested in the name of removal of Amit Agarwal's company. Rajeev Kumar used to send the copy of petition etc. related to making ED a respondent from WhatsApp to the then Deputy Director. The CID team wants to get information in this connection by interrogating the former director of ED. However, there is a possibility of a change in the date due to the Muharram holiday on August 9.

It is to be known that in the past, public prosecutors Dipankar Kundu and Sanjay Prasad Singh, appearing for the Kolkata Police, had said in the High Court that illegal properties have been detected at many places acquired by them. There are eight single room flats and eight double room flats in Rajiv's name. Apart from this, there are also four expensive cars.

When the police arrived in Ranchi to raid this advocate's house, the hard disk of the CCTV camera installed outside the house was removed before the police arrived. Efforts are being made on behalf of the accused to destroy the evidence. The police have got clues about the transaction of a lot of rupees through the documents found from the house of the accused lawyer. More questioning is necessary from Rajiv Kumar. It is to be known that Rajeev Kumar was arrested by Kolkata Police for blackmailing a businessman and taking Rs 50 lakh.
