Man found shot inside his vehicle after crash in a Houston neighborhood
The incident occurred Saturday night in the Alief area. The victim, who had multiple gunshot wounds, was found dead inside his car.
A man was found dead inside his vehicle after being shot several times and crashing in the Alief area, southwest of Houston, on Saturday night, the Houston Police Department (HPD) reported.
Lieutenant Ali, of the HPD, said that the incident occurred around 9:20 pm, near Briar Terrace Drive, when residents of a home heard a loud noise and went outside to see what had happened.
When they went outside, they found a blue vehicle with a man wounded by a gunshot wound inside. Paramedics confirmed his death at the scene.
Cameras captured the moment of the crash
Surveillance footage provided by a neighbor shows the moment a red pickup truck hits the blue sedan in the driveway of a home. However, authorities clarified that the shooting was not caught on camera.
“It's concerning because it was probably close and he was trying to get away,” said Erika Rivera, a resident of the area.
Police have no suspects in custody
Homicide detectives reviewed neighborhood security footage for leads, but so far no suspects have been identified or arrested.
HPD continues to investigate the circumstances leading up to the shooting and subsequent crash.
