This is the futuristic megayacht inspired by Star Wars: it looks like an imperial ship
A British studio presented a futuristic megayacht inspired by Star Wars. It has the design of an imperial ship, advanced technology and gigantic dimensions
There are projects that seem designed to navigate the sea. And others that seem straight out of a science fiction movie. That is what happens with the new megayacht concept presented by the British studio ThirtyC, a futuristic vessel that took as inspiration one of the most recognizable ships in popular culture: the imperial destroyers from Star Wars.
At first glance it is hard to believe that it is a yacht. Its triangular silhouette, aggressive lines and almost military appearance are much more reminiscent of a spaceship than a traditional luxury vessel. However, behind that extreme aesthetic there is a real naval design proposal that seeks to imagine what some of the megayachts of the future could be like.
A giant of more than 100 meters
The project was developed by ThirtyC Yacht Design and proposes a vessel approximately 150 meters long (492 feet), a dimension that would place it within the category of so-called gigayachts, reserved for some of the largest private boats on the planet.
Its design completely breaks with the classic image of white megayachts full of curves. Angular surfaces, stepped volumes and a structure that seems to advance over the water as if it were engaging in combat predominate here.
Although it is still a concept and there is no confirmed buyer, the designers maintain that the project was intended to be technically viable and not just as a visual exercise.

Hidden windows, helipads and private areas
One of the most striking aspects is how the design tries to hide many of the typical elements of a luxury boat.
The large windows are integrated behind geometric panels, while the roofs appear staggered within the structure itself. Also planned are entertainment areas distributed on several levels, private spaces for guests, technical sectors and landing areas for helicopters.
The idea is that the exterior retains that futuristic image inspired by Star Wars without giving up the comforts that owners of this type of boat usually look for.
Extreme luxury also looks towards sustainability
Although the design seems taken from a space saga, its creators assure that the technology imagined for the project points to very current trends in the nautical industry.
Possibilities include the use of hybrid or even fully electric systems, as well as lighter materials and solutions to reduce energy consumption and improve performance in the water.
The superyacht industry is facing increasing pressure to incorporate cleaner technologies, especially in giant vessels that consume huge amounts of fuel.
When science fiction inspires luxury
Regardless of whether it is ever built, the project shows the extent to which the luxury industry seeks inspiration outside of traditional models.
In recent years, yacht concepts have appeared influenced by sports cars, aircraft and science fiction films. But few are as recognizable as this one.
For Star Wars fans, the image is immediate: it looks like the maritime version of an imperial ship sailing over the ocean.
And although only a billionaire can probably turn this idea into reality, the project has already achieved something important: attracting attention far beyond the world of yachting.
