They call it the most beautiful electric in the world: the Mazda 6e
With up to 552 kilometers of autonomy and a design that combines sportiness and functionality, it becomes a serious rival for Tesla, BYD and Volkswagen
The electric car market is undergoing an accelerated transformation. Every month, new models appear that try to differentiate themselves through autonomy, design, or technology.
However, few manage to capture as much attention as the recently presented Mazda 6e, a vehicle that many already describe as the "most beautiful electric car in the world."
Beyond aesthetics, the Mazda6e represents a firm step by the Japanese brand towards sustainable mobility without sacrificing elegance or sportiness.
With proportions of 4.92 meters long, 1.89 meters wide, and 1.49 meters high, the model combines the stylized silhouette of a coupe with the practicality of a five-door hatchback.
The result is a large car, attractive on the outside and functional on the inside, which is ready to compete with such strong rivals like the Tesla Model 3, the BYD Seal or the Volkswagen ID.7.
Two versions for different driver profiles
The heart of the Mazda 6e comes in two mechanical variants that respond to different needs.
The first, called standard, is equipped with a 190 kW (258 hp) rear motor and a 68.8 kWh LFP (lithium-iron-phosphate) battery. With this configuration, the car offers a range of up to 479 kilometers under the WLTP cycle.
Fast charging is also a protagonist: it supports powers of up to 165 kW in direct current, which allows you to go from 10% to 80% battery in just 24 minutes.
Above appears the Long Range version, with a 180 kW (245 hp) engine and 80 kWh NCM (nickel, cobalt and manganese) battery. This variant offers up to 552 kilometers of autonomy, although with a particular detail: direct current charging is limited to 90 kW, which means that the operation from 10% to 80% takes around 47 minutes.
In both versions, Mazda has worked on efficiency:The approved consumption is 16.6 kWh/100 km for the LFP battery and 16.5 kWh/100 km for the NCM.
In addition, they share an engine torque of 320 Nm, a maximum speed of 175 km/h and alternating current charging of up to 11 kW. In acceleration, the difference is minimal: 7.6 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h in the most powerful and 7.8 seconds in the standard variant.
Exterior design: elegance with nods to tradition
Mazda has paid special attention to the aesthetics of the 6e, a section that has already placed it as a benchmark. The front features a new, illuminated wing-shaped grille, which not only adds personality but also indicates through a dynamic animation that the vehicle is charging.
The rear maintains the classic Mazda essence with rounded shapes and taillights with four luminous cylinders, a tribute to the brand's design history. But it's not all style: the tailgate offers a loading opening of 964 mm wide and 619 mm high, much more practical than a conventional sedan.
The wheelbase of 2,895 mm translates into a spacious cabin, while the rear trunk offers 466 liters of capacity, expandable to 1,074 liters with the seats folded down. At the front, a 72-liter "frunk" adds additional space.
Mazda also includes functional details such as an electric rear deflector that activates automatically at 90 km/h (56 mph), improving stability.
The traditional logo is replaced at the rear by the brand name in a revised typeface. The standard 19-inch wheels can be customized with three different designs available in the catalog, all aerodynamically optimized.
The color palette offers eight metallic options, including the iconic Soul Red Crystal, the striking Melting Cooper, Aero Gray and the classic Jet Black, along with shades such as Crystal White Pearl, Machine Grey, Polymetal Grey and Deep Crystal Blue.
Premium-level interior technology
Behind the doors, the Mazda 6e optimises a balanced combination of comfort and digitalization. The 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster is complemented by an advanced Head-Up Display that projects key information such as speed, battery status, and navigation directly into the driver's field of vision.
The centerpiece of the dashboard is the 14.6-inch central touchscreen, designed with a smartphone-inspired interface. It controls connectivity, climate control, and assistance systems.
Rear seat occupants are also equally welcome: they have their own screen to manage climate control, electric blinds, and even the position of the front seat.
Among the most striking innovations, Mazda introduces a voice recognition system in nine European languages, activated with the phrase "Hey Mazda", as well as gesture controls to manage calls, the front selfie camera or the sound system.
The latter, developed by Sony, includes 14 premium speakers and a subwoofer, with a unique detail: an external speaker hidden behind the front bumper that allows music to be played outside the car.
Smart modes for everyday life
The Mazda 6e incorporates six usage modes designed to adapt the vehicle to different everyday situations. Among them, the “I’m Out” mode stands out, which maintains a stable interior temperature for passengers or pets while the driver is away for a few minutes.
Other interesting modes are “Rest” and “Relax”, which adjust the climate control, seats and lighting for moments of disconnection, or the “Wash Tunnel”, which protects the vehicle during automatic cleaning.
The “Private Calls” mode transmits the audio only to the driver’s headrest speakers, while “Fresh Air” quickly ventilates the cabin with a flow of purified air.
State-of-the-art safety and connectivity
The safety section is not far behind. The Mazda 6e is equipped with nine strategically distributed airbags, as well as a new occupant monitoring system using an interior camera.
This device detects the presence of children in the rear seats and alerts the driver if they get out of the vehicle without removing them, reducing the risk of forgetting them.
In terms of connectivity, Mazda is also launching “Mazda Charging”, a mobile application that provides access to hundreds of thousands of charging points throughout Europe. The app lets you start, stop, and pay for charging from your phone, shows real-time charger availability, and offers different payment methods without the need for a subscription.
Another new feature is the “Bluetooth Key Sharing” system, which turns your smartphone into a digital key and lets you share access with up to three people.
A serious rival in the electric segment
With a range of up to 552 kilometers, a design that combines tradition and modernity, a highly technological interior, and an outstanding level of safety, the Mazda 6e is emerging as one of the most complete models in its category.
In a market where Tesla, BYD, and Volkswagen set the pace, Mazda enters with a proposal that balances elegance, innovation, and functionality. The title of “most beautiful electric car in the world” may sound subjective, but the truth is that the Mazda 6e has more than enough arguments to make that claim no exaggeration.
